hope you had a super easter wknd - and that you've been able to pick up a few packs of cadbury's mini eggs on sale!
my first chocolate chip cookie post-lent was wonderful even though it was packaged and from the cafeteria at mountain-top chalet at tremblant.
but tremblant, was fantastic! i think i've got boarding out of my system for this season.
although this pretty intense snowfall today has made me wondering whether it's a sign from the gods that snowboarding season isn't quite over.
so montreal/tremblant in a nutshell:
- lots of driving and stops at tim hortons (1/3 for roll up the rim, free donut)
- stop in brighton at the big apple for a candy apple & mini apple crumble
- a detour to montreal pour chez schwartz for smoked meat, cherry cola and pickles
- darth vader masks (as seen above!) to protect our faces from the biting -20 wind on tremblant
- lots and lots of boarding up and down the real mountain that is tremblant but now i have a lot of scratches on my pretty board :(
- a lot of crappy tremblant chalet cafeteria food for lunch including what is possible the worst poutine i've ever had in my life - surprising in quebec, right?
- excellent almond & caramel candy apple from rocky mountain chocolate factory in tremblant village and hot chocolate with lots of whipped cream, yuuuum!
- probably some of the best foie gras i've ever had in my life at aux truffes, paired with a beautiful semillon (although, i suppose i haven't had enough foie gras in my life to really rate this properly. . .i'll need to check out per se or masa in nyc to make things fair)
- our "detour" on the way home on the highway that ended with "40" that we were told would lead to toronto and a stop at a sketchy roadside cafeteria with terrible coffee and fake creamers
- amazing b+b owners, karin and stan at "au beau soleil" who helped us get discount lift tickets for tremblant, who have a sneaky orange cat and a black kitchen aid mixer (although those two probably shouldn't go together)
